All of the contributors here have their own blogs already anyway and I ask you visit these from the ‘Islamic Links’ section in the sidebar, if you wish to continue to benefit from our efforts.

Madrassah Al Zahra [London - Walthamstow] is going to hold its First Sisters Bukhari Graduation Ceremony insha’Allah. However, to make it a success, **SPONSORS & Donations are NEEDED!!**.

Madrassah Al Zahra is a Madrassah running the Alim course for sisters. It has been running for approximately seven years and its very first class will be graduating this year insha’Allah.

The Madrassah, being part time, has taken the girls 7 years to complete, and many improvements have been made to the Madrassah Syllabus.

It is greatly indebt, as the Madrassah charge only a small fee to enroll on the Aalimah Course, and so are in need of both students and donations.

A friend of mine attends the Madrassah and is currently in the third year. She hopes to fulfill her and her parents dream by completing the course to spread Islam insha’Allah.

By inviting others to the final lesson of Sahih Bukhari, people may be able to see the success of the students insha’Allah. Since it is a part time Alimah Course, the girls face the world whilst studying and in some way, give up more than Darul Uloom students.

The Madrassah will also be holding its end of year Jalsa on the day, so sisters may watch and listen to various presentations by the students.

The Madrassah really wants more sisters to join, so that ilm can spread and falsehood may vanish, however, due ot the Madrassah being in debt, donations are needed. Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

Once a Sahabi said:

رضيت بالله ربا وبالاسلام دينا وبمحمد نبيا

Radditu billahi Rabban wa bi Islami Deenan Wa bi Muhammadan Nabiyan

‘I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, and with Islam as a Religion and with Muhammad (SAW) as the Nabi.”

Ofcourse, this Sahabi said the above from the bottom of his heart and infact, we should all have this one line firm in the veins of our body as we are Muslims, and we should be pleased with being one but if we look around today, first at ourselves, then can we really say that we are pleased with Allah as our Lord, with Islam as our religon and with muhammad (S) as the Last and Final Prophet?

We continue to disobey Allah, we forget that we are His servants, we forget the sacrifices that Muhammad (S) made for us, we forget the times when he bled, once from head to toe, we forget the times when he was abused by the Kuffaar, we forget the beauty of Islam and that it is a way of life, the religion of peace. We forget about the many blessings Allah has bestowed on us. Are we worthy enough to be called His servants?

We need to thank Allah more, we need to be more grateful, and we need to continue our salutation on Nabi (S) to show that we are pleased with Allah as our Lord, with Islam as our religon and with Muhammad (S) as the final Messenger.

May Allah Ta’ala give us the tawfeeq to act upon what has been said, and May He send salutations on Nabiyyil Ummiyyi Muhammad (S).

I woke up this morning to see the sun was beaming in through my window. Seeing as it is also a really relaxing and refreshing walk through the park as part of my journey to work, I decided to walk it there today. A huge plus point is that I also get to have more time in the company of Shaykh Juhani’s Qur’an tilawat.

At work, about mid way through the morning the thunderstorms started. Ooops, I think to myself, ‘I don’t have my jacket, but at least I have my portable umbrella.’ I recall how only the day before I had checked the weather forecast online which predicted rain storms for the whole of the following day and beyond. I feel a little silly now that I didn’t remember this and at least bring my jacket, if not the big umbrella.

By now you’re probably thinking what a daft so and so Ahmed is, and quite rightly so as well. Put yourselves in my shoes for a minute though; see how bad it feels you came unprepared? Even though, the weather is only predicted one way or another, you still feel foolish.

Despite the Quran and ahadith reminding us of what we will all certainly have to face we do so little to get ready for it. What then to say of how we will feel on the day of judgement when we will be held to account?

We also know that ‘Every soul shall taste death’ yet we still roam the earth living in blissful ignorance of the fact that death can come to us at any moment. Instead we prepare ourselves arduously to live a dream life and one of luxury in this temporary abode of ours.

May Almighty Allah give me and you the ability to utilise our allocated time on earth for accumulating good deeds and to prepare for the hereafter before death comes to us, Ameen.

Every Soul must taste death [Surah Al-’Ankabut]

The husband is like a spiritual mentor
The spiritual mentor (Shaykh) attends to the spiritual enhancement of the mureed (disciple). However, a normal spiritual mentor who accepts bay’t is insufficient to attend to the spiritual needs of the woman. The spiritual mentor is not available to them at all times.

They require a spiritual mentor of the house, the husband. This type of spiritual mentor, i.e. the husband, is more beneficial to her than the other categories of spiritual mentors. And his status is also more superior than the others.

What a nice spiritual mentor this household spiritual mentor is. Apart from attending to your Deeni requirements, he also provides food etc. for you. He takes the responsibility of both the Deen as well as the dunyaa. These characteristics wouldn’t be found in a normal spiritual mentor. There is no worldly benefit to be derived from him. In fact, offerings (of gifts etc.) have to be made over to (some of) them.

Also, she wont be able to derive as much Deeni benefit from him as she would derive from her husband. A normal spiritual mentor will only be able to guide you when you enquire about something or whenever you happen to go to him. This might come about probably once in many years. Women in particular will hardly end up meeting their spiritual mentor. The husband on the other hand is always with them. He will be able to monitor every deed.

This is why I maintain that the spiritual mentor of the Ba’yt (house) is more superior than the spiritual mentor Bay’t.

In this day and age the above gives a lot of food for thought for both males and females. The importance of deeni rights owed to women are commonly neglected by menfolk, or they are not even given due importance by the woman.

May Allah swt give us the ability to rectify ourselves of this incorrect thought and implement into our lives practically the important message that Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi highlights in the above extract, Ameen.

Following this hadeeth, I hold the intention of spreading the word of Islam, and not just giving my views but the words of the Ulama (May Allah Ta’ala shower His blssings upon them. Ameen)
